Use your tiny faith
April 27, 2026
You may be seated. Amen. I hope you think about the words to these songs. Man, they’re just good, good words. That one there, “Let the Lower Lights Be Burning.” I hope you kind of grasp that. The lighthouse, of course, that’s Jesus Christ.
But as those ships are coming in, those harbors, especially back in the day, they needed lights on the coastline to keep them from getting too close to those and crashing at nighttime, whatnot. And those were the lower lights. And, you know, the lost people, they need you to be the lower lights to guide them into the harbor with Jesus Christ. And just a great, great song. Did you notice that first song that we sang? I’m cheating. 108, that rescued the perishing. Man, that third verse tonight just spoke to me. It’s such a great, great thing. You can see it in people’s lives when God changes and they grow in the Lord. Look at that third verse there. That third verse, 108: “Down in the human heart crushed by the tempter.” Boy, you just find some people whose hearts are just crushed. I mean, they’re just so messed up emotionally in every way.
And sometimes you ask, is there any hope? But look at this: “Down in the human heart crushed by the tempter, feelings lie buried that grace can restore.” You just see someone in their lives who’s got so many wounds and scars, and those feelings are just deadened inside. And boy, grace can restore those, touched by a loving heart.
This whole world needs that, and the big thing is the Lord’s loving heart—I mean, just unconditional love, you know. And “touched by a loving heart, awakened by kindness, chords that are broken.” I mean, sometimes you look at someone and you say, can they ever have a good, stable relationship for very long? And yet, man, the grace of God can restore that and put them back together. And chords that are broken will vibrate once more. And just on and on. Man, I hope you’ll look at the words to these songs. Don’t just sing them; let them get in your heart. They’re great, great words and good songs.
And I’m glad we sing those great, great songs. They’re just—as we say in Tennessee—they’re good. Say, “Amen.” They really are. And I hope you kind of grasp the words on those. Good to see you on a Sunday night. Glad to have you back. And praise the Lord, we’ve got our new members. I’m a little concerned, though, when I look out and see our… Brother Go Forth, would you hold up what you got in your hands now?
I called our new member. Come on now, you got to hold that thing up! Oh, he’s got one of those. What do you call those things? A tripod? Cell phone holder? Selfie stick, that’s it. And it’s a pink selfie stick, too. Now, I don’t know about all that. We really are honored to have them as members, and praise the Lord, that’s a blessing. And the next Sunday is going to be special. Next Sunday is special. And right after Sunday morning service, we’ll head over there.
We’ll probably have to park somewhere. If you’d like to, I would be very cautious on that. You can pull onto the property. It’s supposed to rain between now and then, so we’ll see how the property is. But you can park back behind O’Reilly’s there on that road and walk over. We’ll have a stakeout there, but we’ll meet over there right after service. We’ll surround that; we’ll pray over it. That’s going to be a special time.
And I hope you’re there for that. Bring someone with you. Looking forward to that. Saturday will be the ladies’ tea. They’ll have a good time with that, and it will be a great, great thing. And then, of course, Saturday, we’ll be back out—those of you that can. We’ll meet at McDonald’s. We’ll have the ladies’ tea here. We’ll meet at McDonald’s at 9:30 for soul winning. And just something about being out there. God does the work, but we go and just try to rescue the perishing and watch God work on hearts and lives. And so if you can come, we only have four more spring soul-winning Saturdays organized. And so if you want to come, we’d love to have you come. And we’ll meet at McDonald’s at 9:30 on Saturday. That’d be a great, great thing.
And then tomorrow, ushers, if you want to come for offering tomorrow, if you can go to the funeral service for Brother Almas Raymer. And how many of you were here when he turned 100? We celebrated his 100th. That was just a special day. And, of course, Senator Diane White was there; that all made it special. Just a dear man, and 101. And can you believe that? Pray for his family. Pray for Brother Go Forth; I appreciate him preaching that funeral, and he’ll do a good job at that.
His oldest son was there the day he passed, and he just… you know, the oldest, a lot of times, can remember more stories. He had so many good stories about his dad, and he said over two that most of you know that—but he said that he remembers his dad didn’t talk about it much, but when he first came back, he remembers his dad just in the middle of the night just screaming, just that PTSD. And his dad at one time kind of talked about it a little bit, and he said he remembers being over there and he said when those bombs would be dropped, he said it would just shake the ground. He said it would lift you off the ground, and then just kind of you just settle back in. And just a dear man, a good man, steady man. It said his dad would work two or three jobs at one point. One of the siblings said you got him fired one time from a job because he was working two or three jobs and just tired all the time. And he had told one of his other jobs that he had the other jobs, and so they fired him: “You’re working too many jobs.”
And they said when he would come in as they were just younger growing up, he said, “Wherever Dad got inside, wherever he sat down, that’s where he’d sleep at.” And he’d sit down at the dinner table to eat, his head went down, and he was just out. He sat in a living room, you know, the easy chair—that’s where he slept all that. And he’d wake up the next morning and go to work. And just a working man. Praise the Lord, he’s got rest now, you know. And so pray for that tomorrow. Pray for Brother Adam’s family. His grandpa passed, and he—of course, give him more details—but fell, broke his hip, and passed away. And so pray for that family, if you would. I think it’s his mom’s dad.
And so pray, pray for the family there, if you would, please. That was yesterday? Okay. Okay, okay. Of course, there in New York, his mom, but his grandpa was in Florida. And so pray for that family, if you would, please, too, and for Brother Adam and his family, if you would, that would just be a blessing. And I’m always amazed to see those Casey boys around here. That’s just amazing. Those twins are awesome. And praise the Lord for the Caseys. They’re a blessing, just just praise the Lord for them, and just just a blessing to our church. And praise the Lord for Brother John Casey. Remember John Casey used to come, his wife wasn’t saved at this point, and he would come, and he and Emily, and they’d sit over here, and God got a hold of his wife a little bit through his sickness.
And he was going through some physical problems at the time, and she was just concerned. And God got a hold of her heart. She got saved. And praise the Lord for the Caseys. They’re a blessing. They’re just awesome. Brother Casey, would you lead us in prayer for all for the place, brother? Let’s all stand once more. We’ll turn to number 100. Number 100, “Just One More Soul.” We’ll sing both verses, and we’ll repeat that chorus at the end. Psalm 100. The church oppressed is still… keep sharing that Jesus is King. Their surround choice for just if just one more time…
Amen, good, good singing. Thank you so very, very much. Turn your Bibles, if you would, to Matthew chapter number 17. Matthew chapter number 17. And while you’re turning there, let us kind of get us on board. Jesus and His inner three had just been on the Mount of Transfiguration, we call it, and praying. And that’s where Jesus began to shine and just glisten a little bit of His glorified state. And then Moses and Elijah showed up, and of course Peter talked out, and all those things are going on. And they just came down off the mount. And they walked into a situation where this man had a demon-possessed son.
And he had brought that demon-possessed son to the other apostles there, and they couldn’t cast him out. And Jesus is coming down out of the mount, and they’re walking into this situation here, all right? And we’re in verse number 18, Matthew 17:18. If you’re able to, would you stand just to show the Word of God respect? Matthew, Matthew 17.
And we’re going to start in verse number 18. Matthew 17:18: “And Jesus rebuked the devil, and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.” Then the disciples came to Jesus apart and said, “Why could we not cast them out?” Jesus said, “Because of your unbelief. For verily I say unto you, if you have a whole lot of faith—super strong faith—if you have faith as a grain of a mustard seed…”
“…ye shall say unto this mountain.” Now remember, they just came out of the Mount of Transfiguration. We think, the best we can find out, that was Mount Tabor. If you ever see a picture of it, it was just kind of like a mountain right in the middle of nowhere, and boom, this huge mountain. It’s 1,806 feet tall, so you’re not talking about a hill; you’re talking about a mountain.
And they just… and Jesus says, “Look, if you have faith as a grain of a mustard seed”—just a little bitty peck—if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, you’re talking about this huge mountain: “Remove hence to yonder place,” and it shall remove, “and nothing shall be impossible to you.” You say, does it mean that literally? I believe so. But I believe it’s also giving us a little lesson here about the mountain in front of you. I don’t know what it may be. Maybe the mountain in front of our church—well, we want to… we want to… you know, not draw from that loan or offering, this, whatever it may be. It may be a mountain of problems in your heart, your life. But He said that this mountain, it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible.
Then that verse, number 21: “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” Let’s pray for just a bit. Let’s just dive into this thing here. And here’s the subject. I don’t have it written down, the title, but “Use Your Tiny Faith.” I don’t care how tiny it is. Use your tiny faith. You say, “I don’t have much faith.” That’s all right. Just use what you have. Use your tiny faith. That’s the title. And let’s pray that God will speak to hearts about that truth here tonight.
Father, I ask, would you just challenge us, Lord? Help us to get a vision of us using, us using the tiny little faith we have. Father, teach us about that; grow us in that, Lord. Thank you for the promises, Lord, that you’ve given us here. Amazing, Lord. Thank you for it. Help us to grasp them. And Lord, we’ll thank you for what you do, and we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Thank you so much for standing. You may be seated. Would you look over? Keep your finger there. Would you look over in the book of Mark? Mark chapter number four. I want you to see something here. He said He mentions mustard seed five times in the Bible. And really, it often references, or it’s kind of the main meaning of a mustard seed: it’s so little; it’s just tiny. How many of you have ever planted a garden? Come on now. How many of you farmers out there? How many of you don’t do it anymore? I’m with you on that now, you know. But those mustard seeds, I mean, they’re just tiny. I always think about okra seed; they’re little, but then a mustard seed is even smaller. And then they say the mustard seed they used in the Bible then is even smaller than that. I’ve been given one of those in a little plastic baggy, and I still can’t find that crazy thing. I lost it. It’s so little.
You know, and that’s what He references often about this. He mentions it five times in the Bible. Look over here, Mark. Look at Mark chapter four. Look in verse number 31. Mark four, look in verse number 31. He says right there, He said, “It is like a grain of a mustard seed.” Watch this; here’s what I’m getting at: “Which when it is sown in the earth, it is less than all the seeds that be in the earth.” It goes on talking about how it grows up, but I want you to notice that little phrase that what I’m trying to emphasize just a minute: “when it is sown.”
Here’s the thing about our faith. And you say, “Well, I just got a little bit of faith.” And Satan will intimidate you because of how small your faith is, that you will not plant it. He’ll say, “That puny little faith—God’s disappointed in your faith.” But God didn’t say that. God says, “Look, that’s all you got to have.”
I had some seeds in one of my sheds for years. Proper good seed, but they didn’t do any good in my shed. I had to get my lazy self up and plow and plant those seeds. And Satan is so crafty at getting us intimidated: “Well, your tiny little bit of faith is no good.” And the Bible says, all you’ve got to have is just a tiny little peck of faith, but you’ve got to use it. You’ve got to plant it. And if you just listen to the devil, he’s going to convince you not to use your faith. But Satan’s a liar for it.
And Jesus is telling His disciples, “Look, friend, all you got to have is faith as a grain.” He didn’t say—He didn’t say a bunch of it; it’s just faith as a grain of a mustard seed. Just a little bitty peck, but you’re going to have to plant that thing and use that thing. That’s why He says that.
Next verse, 21: He said, “Howbeit this kind cometh not forth but by prayer and you’re going to have to put it to work. You got to use that faith in prayer and fasting.” Now, don’t listen to the devil. He’ll intimidate you and say, “Well, your prayers are no good.” Satan always loves to undermine your prayers; he’s good at that. And he just downplays your prayer. He tries to convince you that your prayers are useless and worthless because he trembles when you pray. And don’t listen to him. You said, “I just got a little bit of faith.” That’s all right. The big thing is that you plant. You use.
Friend, that’s the key: just use your little bit of faith. He really explains how: prayer and fasting. Now, here be the easy thing. Here be the easy thing: with that big old huge mountain right there, over a thousand feet, and my little bitty, my bitty little prayers and faith? And that’s the devil… Can you just imagine the ratio? We’ll get these engineers in here, you know, the ratio between a grain of a mustard seed and however many tons that mountain—Mount Tabor—would be. What’s the ratio there, you know? And Jesus is saying, “Hey, look, friend, quit all that. Just take that little bit of seed you have, and that great big old mound—that’s how much power you have when you plant your seed.”
Oh, you’ve got it, you’ve got it, but you’ve got to use it. If Satan can intimidate you to keep your faith in your pocket and never use it, he’s got you. They say Hudson Taylor, his first voyage over to China as a young man at the time, started the China Inland Mission. God used him so greatly. But he was sailing over there—of course, back then they had the sailboats, you know. And now we think, you know, you just… one couple of hour flights to China, maybe more in a couple of hours, but you know, our travel is so quick compared. But then it would take months, and they were traveling in this sailboat.
And Hudson Taylor, God spoke to him, and he was witnessing on the ship there, witnessing; he would hold services, trying to lead some of these travelers and the captain of his ship, all the workers, to the Lord. He’s having these services. And they were traveling by some islands where they said on those islands, the coastline there, had cannibals in there. And the wind had stopped blowing. And so the current was pushing them up against that coastline where there’s savages in there. Boy, they’re just… man, you know. And just no wind at all for days.
And Hudson Taylor kept having these services trying to win them to the Lord. And finally the captain, he said—well, he went to Hudson Taylor. He said, “Sir,” he said, “I don’t know about everything you preach, whatnot.” And I’m paraphrasing a little bit, but “Would you pray if we don’t get some wind? With this current, we’re going to be dead. We’re going to be on somebody’s supper table one day,” you know.
And Hudson Taylor said, “I tell you what, God had been speaking to Hudson Taylor for a long time about faith and praying to God.” And he said, “I’ll pray as long as you put your sails up.” And he said, “Sir, if I put my sails up right now, all my sailors are going to laugh at me because there’s no wind.” And that’s what Taylor said: “All right, no sails, no prayer.”
And the captain came to him and he said, “All right, all right, I’ll put the sails up, but you better pray.” And they say he put them up, and Hudson Taylor went down in his cabin, and he just started praying, “Oh, Lord, I’ve been trying to tell these people how mighty you are, and you’re the true God,” and on and on. He just began to just pray, and praying and praying and praying. And they say Hudson Taylor says in the book, he said, “I don’t know how much longer it was,” but the captain started knocking on the door and he said, “Hey, are you praying in there?” He said, “Yeah, I prayed in there.” He said, “Stop praying! We got so much wind, it’s about to rip the sails!” Faith, friend. And he said, “Hey, put the sails up, and I’ll pray.” God honors faith.
Faith is so key. Now, let me say this. Look over in John chapter number 14. Number one, you got to put your tiny little faith, use it, use it, you got to plant it. And then let me say this: look over in John 14 and look in verse number 12, if you would please. John 14, verse number 12. And we’re going somewhere with this, so hang with me for a second here on this. John 14, verse number 12. You there tonight? Amen. Amen.
Look what it says. He says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you”—that’s like I’m about to tell you the truth here, truly true, verily, verily—“I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto my Father.” Now here’s the thing. Here’s the thing. Just for a second. Here’s what the devil will do. He’s a sly old fox. How many of you sang that song when you were in Sunday school? “I could catch him, I put him in a box, lock the door with the key. Amen. For all those tricks he played on me. Amen. Glad I got salvation.” All that, you know.
The devil will get you focused on your faith instead of on Jesus. And the Bible says, “No, you believe on me.” Be careful. And he’ll say, “You’re puny little, you’re sorry, good for nothing. You ought to have more faith than that.” And you know, the problem is he’s right in some ways. But the Lord doesn’t have to—it doesn’t say you’ve got to have ten pounds of faith. It says faith as a grain of a mustard seed. So don’t let the devil get you focused on how much faith you do or don’t have. Keep your faith focused on Jesus.
See, because if you’re focused on how much faith you have, if you do have a good amount of faith, that’s basically pride. And if you don’t have much faith, you’re all, “Oh, my little bit of faith.” It kind of leads to pity, right? So don’t get too focused on, “Why, I don’t have much faith.” Friend, just take what little bit of faith, put it in the ground, plant it, and keep your eyes on Jesus. That’s what He’s saying. He said the works that I do, and greater works. Wow.
You see that the miracle-working power is not in your faith; it’s in the One that your faith is in. You heard about the people that they went out in the springtime, and the ice had fallen out a little bit more than they thought. They thought, “Man, there’s plenty of ice; we’re good.” They had strong faith, and they went out on the lake, the frozen lake. But it was a lot thinner than they thought. And they had great, great faith. And boy, pretty soon, man, the cracking and everything else, and boom, they fell in. Praise the Lord, they got out. But they learned a little lesson.
And the wintertime came, and it was solid. I mean, it was just… I mean, you could probably drive a Mack truck on it. But they were so fearful the next time they went out that they had a little bit of tiny faith. But the honest truth is, man, you could drive them back all those; you’ll probably be fine. And they walked out, they’re fearful and all that, but they walked out, and they were fine. Here’s the moral of the story: it’s not a matter of how much faith; it’s what your faith is in.
So don’t get too focused on how much faith you do or don’t have. Just put your faith in Jesus. Keep your eyes on Jesus, friend, and go on. But you must apply that faith. Get your eyes and your faith, not on your faith, but on Jesus. Jesus said, “Hey, all power is given to me in heaven and the earth.” Jesus is the One. He’s the Word. He spoke the world into existence. And get your eyes on Jesus. That’s the key.
There was a man recently that his wife was not saved, and he began to pray for his wife to get saved. And he said the Lord was working in his heart. First thing, the Lord said, “You need to get right yourself.” Part of him getting right was for him forgiving himself. And then the Lord spoke to him about faith. And he said, “Lord, all I have is just a tiny little bit of faith.” I don’t know exactly what the Lord said, but it seemed like to hear the end of the story, that’s all they needed. And he said, “I’m going to fast for my wife.” And the first day he fasted for his wife to be saved—so you put that seed in the ground.
He came home from work that day, and that afternoon his wife said, “Hey,” she’s a lost lady, rejected the gospel. She told her husband that it had… put that faith in her. She said, “I felt the presence of God today.” And how can you explain that besides God’s presence for it? And it was a little while later, she ended up getting saved. But friend, he took that little bit. He and he told the Lord, “Lord, I just got a little bit of faith.” But he applied it; he put that seed in the ground. I pray the Lord his wife is saved today. It’s a matter—not a matter—how much faith.
They say there was a lady that was just known for her prayer life and her faith. And somebody went to her and said, “Hey, are you the lady of great faith?” She said, “No, I’m the lady of little faith in a great God.” That’s the key. Just take your… don’t let the devil intimidate you.
Now here’s a good thing. When you plant your must—just a grain of a mustard seed of faith—you know what happens? Look over in 1 John 5:13. We use this verse a lot when we’re witnessing to people, and they’ll say, “Well, can anybody know? You know? Or if you die today, do you know for sure you go to heaven?” Well, can anybody know? And well, oh yeah, the Bible says it over here in 1 John 5:13. How many use that? Yeah, we use that a lot. It’s a great verse to use; I use it. And nothing wrong with that. But I want you to know it’s just a little part of this thing. Kind of interesting, 1 John 5. And look at verse number 13. What does he say there? He says, “These things have I written unto you”—the Word of God, specifically the book of First John. I wrote the Bible to you—“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.” All right, salvation. “That ye may know that ye have eternal life.” We always focus on it; it’s right to do that. “That ye may know… that ye may know… that ye may know… that ye may believe what He says again, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
What’s He saying? Look, you believe, you get your assurance of your salvation. You know what that does? You got more belief. You got more faith. What’s the big thing about a mustard seed? You plant it in the ground. That little bit you start using it, and what happens? It grows. I remember I had the privilege of leading someone to the Lord, and they were skeptical. They were just so skeptical about it. But finally, they decided to plant that seed, and they asked Jesus to be their Savior. And once they asked, man, something happened inside, and the Spirit of God moved inside. They started crying, and they started saying this: “This is real. This is real.” Actually, we had a vehicle breakdown, and we took this guy to fix it, and he ended up getting saved. And he was just so skeptical. Once he applied the faith and once he prayed, he just started crying. He said, “This is real.” What happened? He took the little bit of faith; he planted it. And what happens? You get more faith.
But look, if you just let the devil intimidate you, “Well, you ain’t got that much faith,” then it’s never going to grow.
Get just a couple thoughts. Just that 1 John 5:13. That’s what we talk about. We won’t—we won’t spend time because we do it often—but that over there in Romans 10:17: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” That’s how your faith, that little mustard seed, grows. Well, we always caution—I’ve done this so many times recently—we did it, but it doesn’t just say faith comes by the Word of God; it says faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. That means the Lord speaks to you about the promise or a Bible verse. By the way, don’t just take that lightly. When He speaks to you about a verse, that’s how you get your faith coming back. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. So when God gives you a verse, man, memorize that thing. Hang your hat on that thing. That’s how your faith grows.
And then let me say this: Salvation, you apply your faith, that brings more faith. The Word of God brings—you hear from the Word of God, God gives you a verse from the Word of God—that’ll build your faith. And then let me say this: part of this mustard seed growing is just all the answers to prayer God’s given you. I imagine I thought about it. I thought about maybe just trying to take a minute or two to get some of you to give a testimony about an answer to prayer, but we would… we would be here quite a while.
You say, “We are here quite a while just when you tell your stories,” you know. But that’s God growing your faith. And be careful. If you’re not careful, all we remember is the bad. But think about all those answers to prayer God’s given you over the years.
I know there have been times for us when we’ve just… maybe just we’re just waffling a little bit, if you will, and we’ll talk about all the answers to prayer God’s given us over the years. And by the time we’re done, man, it’s grown our faith. And that’s part of this seed. When you just remember, think back to all those… I look at my life sometimes and I think, “Boy, God’s been growing my faith or trying to grow my faith.”
I was just a boy—you’ve heard me tell the story—we had a car Dad had fixed up a little bit, and it had three good tires on it. Well, cars don’t run good with three good tires, you understand that? And our family started praying. We needed another tire. And I was doing what all good boys did back in the day. How many… come on now… you went pop bottle hunting? Anybody go pop bottle hunting? Yeah, yeah. Come on now, you young folks, you don’t know what life’s all about. You go pop bottle hunting, and you take that to the grocery store, and you get ten cents or whatever it is for that bottle, and you can get some candy, amen. Next time you know, you get your teeth rotten down. Come on now, you know. It’s just life is good, you know.
But I’m walking down railroad tracks with Jamie McCauley, my buddy, and we’re walking down that road… railroad track, and I look over there; there’s a ditch down there on this side, and man, it’s way down in there. And Jamie and I say, “Hey, Jamie, hey, hey, come over here,” you know. And boy, we go down there, and we look in that ditch, and brand new… no, it wasn’t brand new. It was a brand new, spanking tire, you know. Brand new, spanking. That’s… that’s not just brand new; that’s brand new, spanking. Come on now, you know. I mean, that means it doesn’t just have the knobbies on the tire; it’s got the paper still on the tire. You know, brand spanking new. That’s what it is. Brand spanking new. That’s my dyslexia getting out there, you know. Brand spanking new. We’ll get it right.
And sure enough, man, we grabbed that tire up, took it home. Of all the hundreds of different types of tires, that’s the one tire we needed for that car. And just as a boy, God said, “Paul, you’re going to need that faith one day.”
And then Bible college—there’s so much more to Bible college than you go in there and fail in Greek class. I mean, there’s more to it than that, you know. And so often, so often, that’s when God grows. You hear so many preachers and people, “Oh, that’s all these things,” and God’s growing.
I remember at Bible college at one point—I think as a roommate, a friend, I think he was a roommate, trying to remember it better this afternoon—but he needed $125 to pay his bill. And the Lord said, “Paul, you need to give that.” And I said, “Well, Lord, so-and-so’s got a lot more money than me over there,” you know. And so I paid that. And then I needed $125 a little later on for my bill. And I remember going to the post office, you know, back in the day, and they got all those hundreds of mailboxes, you know, and all that, or however many it was, and you’re going there. And boy, I opened that up. I remember that letter getting that letter out. Can’t remember who it was from, honestly, and opening it up, a $125 check in there. You know what that did? It grew my faith.
And I said in the middle of buying that property over there that I was going to make a diary because God was just doing so many things to make it happen. I forget it all. I did make somewhat of a diary, but I forget where I put it at. That’s the problem. I’m looking for it today, by the way. And I think it was on my computer or maybe my phone back in the day. But God did… But I thought a little bit about it today and remembered those first pictures we had of that new property. The first pictures that the real estate agent showed us from a drone. I remember the cross that was in there? I remember in deacon’s meeting when the deacon said, “Hey, Pastor, that’s a cross.” I said, “Yeah, that is a cross, isn’t it?” We blew that up, and we passed a picture out to everybody in church, just that cross on there.
Then I thought a little bit about where someone, a developer, had a contract on that property. And I went to the real estate agent and said, “Hey, do you think they’re going to be able to fulfill it? Should we start looking for other properties?” He said, “Start looking for other properties. This guy can—he can follow through. He’s a developer; he’s got all the means.” And God heard your prayers. I mean, and now that property is ours. It’s paid for. You know what God was doing? He was growing our faith.
Friend, when you remember all the… every one of you, you got answers to prayer. Remember all the times, all the things God’s done for you. That’s part of that mustard seed. But you got to put it in the ground. Don’t let Satan intimidate you and downplay your little seed of it. Jesus said that’s all you need to remove this mountain.
Hey, let’s put that seed in the ground. Prayer, and yes, even sometimes, fasting. I know I’m using that dirty word in church—fasting, you know—but sometimes that’s the way to put that seed in the ground. Would you bow your heads and close your eyes, just to spend some time with the Lord tonight?
I want to tell Him—let the Lord know—I want to take that little grain of a mustard seed, and I want to apply it. However God spoke in your heart about applying, would you put it in the ground tonight? Would you stand? We’ll have a word of prayer, and you’ll be obedient to the Lord as He speaks to you tonight. Come spend some time. Have the Lord lead you. You do that.
Father, thank you. I need it. Just a promise of Your Word, Lord. Just a grain of a mustard seed. Thank you, Lord, that’s all You said, and You said we can remove mountains. Nothing shall be impossible. Wow, Lord. Thank you for being such a gracious, good God like that. Lord, help us tonight to put our seeds in the ground as You lead. And we’ll thank you, Lord, for what you do. It’s in the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Would you spend some time with the Lord to be obedient and come to an old-fashioned altar? How the Spirit leads you, let’s put our seeds in the ground. Maybe it’s for a lost person to get saved, maybe it’s financial, maybe it’s a relationship—however, whatever it is. Hey, let’s… let’s let the devil say, “That little pity faith.” Oh, that’s… that’s… that’s enough faith. Let’s get it in the ground. One in this song…
Getting close to that seven o’clock, and we’ve been doing this for a couple of weeks now. Let’s… let’s go to the Lord in faith and ask the Lord that He would sell this property, and we can use the proceeds from this to build that before we have to draw from the loan. And let’s pray for the offering next Sunday, too. And do I have any men of the church that have not led us in prayer over this that would be willing to lead us in prayer? We got any men like that? You haven’t led us in prayer about this situation? Sonny, when… any that would be willing to do it? Any men that haven’t led us in prayer or would us be willing to do it? All right, we’re going to have to start doubling up.
Okay, okay, brother. Yeah, good, good, good. Brother Michael McNeil, good, wonderful. Any other men that have not led us in prayer? Good. All right, Brother Marla. Okay, good, good. Let’s get those two men; they’ll lead us in prayer. I’m going to ask you, let’s just come down as a church family. Let’s come down an old… just old—if you can’t get at the altar, I understand that—you get up front or second row. Something about just a church family humbling ourselves before the Lord. It’s a… it’s a sweet, sweet sight and sound having God’s people. We have a mighty God, a mighty God, and let’s come to Him in faith, humbly before Him, and ask Him to bless. Nothing too hard for Him. Jeremiah 32:17 says, “Nothing too hard.” And let’s go in faith asking God to bless, and these men will lead us in prayer. But let’s pray along with them. Let’s don’t just listen to them pray; let them lead us.
And all of us going to the throne of grace together. He said, “Come boldly,” and let’s just go to the throne of grace together, obtain mercy, find grace to help in time of need. These men will lead us at this time, but let’s pray with them as they lead us in prayer.
Here’s the neat thing. I don’t know if Brother Marla knows. Brother Marla was on security this morning, so he was out and about, and he just prayed for that $90,000 we need. He may not know because he was out. $10,000 of it came in yesterday, brother. We only need $80,000 more. So, amen. God’s hearing those prayers already. Amen. Amen. Hey, love you, folk. You’re dismissed. You can head home. God bless you. Thank you for being here on Sunday night. Let’s keep praying. He’s able. Amen.
