Should Christians support Israel?

October 13, 2025

Turn in your Bibles to the book of Romans, chapter 11. Romans chapter 11 in God’s word this morning. We are going to discuss the first part on the subject: Should Christians support Israel? Should Christians support Israel?

It has been very much in the mainstream media and a hot topic in the last months. It really skyrocketed that subject in June. We are going to talk about it for a bit this morning. Should Christians support Israel?

As a pastor, sometimes it is my responsibility to teach and show you what I believe God says in His word on these subjects. So we are in Romans 11. We are going to start there. There is so much in Romans 9, 10, and 11; we won’t be able to cover all that.

We are just going to start off with this one verse. We will pray and talk for a bit, and then we will go over to Genesis, all right? So, are you in Romans 11? Good deal. You are ready to go.

Romans chapter 11, look in verse number one. He says, this is Paul, God speaking through Paul: “I say then, hath God cast away his people?”

Now, “his people” there is not talking about saved people; it is talking about an ethnic group: Israelites. You say, “How do you know that?” Two different reasons why I know that. One reason is because of the context; very easily you can discern that.

And then the next reason, because Paul says, in just a couple words after, “I am an Israelite,” to clarify what he is talking about. That is part of the reason he said that. So, “I say then, hath God cast away his people”—this ethnic group, the Jewish people, the nation of Israel. Y’all with me out there? Very clear.

“God forbid.” If we have time, I am going to try to get over to Jeremiah, chapter 31. Over there, he says, look, as long as the sun is coming up and as long as the sky is consistent—you know, that is how they send all these satellites. How many looked up at nighttime? You do not just see stars; you see like 3,465 satellites every night. There is an order. God says, look, if the order of the stars and the planets, if all that ceases, then all right, you can start worrying about me allowing Israel to be gone. I am paraphrasing. If we have time, we will read it, but that is what he says in Jeremiah 31. Check it out sometimes.

But he says here, “I say then, hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.”

Now, is that clear, friend, or not? He is not talking about salvation or whatever. He is talking about that ethnic race. He even described what tribe he is from. Has God cast them away? God forbid. We will discuss it more. We are just kind of starting off of that one there.

Let us just try to dive into that subject for a bit this morning. Lord, you know, I’m not the best of all these things, and I don’t act like I am, Lord. I believe You led me to preach on this and discuss this with Your people. Thank You, You’ve made it clear in Your word. Lord, help me to rightly divide it. Lord, I pray that our people would learn where and how to stand, not just for themselves, Lord, but for the others they speak with. Give us wisdom. Lord, give us love. Let us stand in love. Lord, You said in that one place, “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” Help us to be that for You. And we’ll thank You, Lord, for what You do. Send Your Spirit guiding me and speaking to hearts and lives. Lord, more than just this inner head, would You help a heart today? Oh, You know, that’s my heart; I just want somebody to get helped, Father, please. And we’ll thank You, Lord, for what You do. And Father, I ask You for this in the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you so much for standing. You may be seated.

In the last couple years, there has been this doctrine that has grown, specifically in America, called replacement theology. What it teaches is that since the nation of Israel has rejected Jesus as a whole—and that is true, not every Jewish person, but as a whole they have—then the Lord is done with Israel, and He has replaced Israel with the church. So, no longer is God going to use or focus on Israel; He is going to work through the church. The church has replaced Israel.

Then there is what is called covenant theology. It is a touch different. It is a little bit harder to get it all; I am giving you just a nutshell of what they are teaching in these. But they will say Israel has rejected Jesus, and because of that, the promises made to Israel in the end times specifically will be fulfilled to the church. Now, they are still there, still an ethnic race, whatnot, but these promises given to Israel will be fulfilled in the church. Y’all out there?

Those are the basic teachings they will get. You got that? And that has grown. Some popular preachers have promoted those.

Then there is October 7th, two years ago, 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel, and about 1,200 people were killed that day. Some will say 30-something, some will say up to 46 Americans were killed in that. There were 251 hostages. Of course, Israel attacked back down there in Gaza, that strip. And you have the Hamas-Israel war that has been going on for two years. The media has really just betrayed that, if there is a war going on, typically they do that. That has brought up a lot of attention to Israel and where America should stand toward Israel.

Now, let me just say a little bit along that line before we dig in more into Scripture, maybe just pulling back from the specifics of that and getting an overview. I would say be a touch careful with media, whether the media be TV or radio or even the Internet. I say that, not just in this area, but across the board.

Ephesians 2:2 tells us that Satan is the prince, that means the leader. He is the prince of the power of the air. So Satan is the leader. Does it mean that everything that comes across the TV or Internet or whatever is bad? No. But he is the leader of it, so there is going to be a major flow of the stuff the devil wants. He is the prince, the leader of the power of the air.

By the way, it is amazing as far as the news. We used to think 6 o’clock news. Well, that is still there, but I would say radio was the thing for a while, and now it is just the Internet. The Internet is very much the majority of it, I would say. And even the Internet, I would say, would be included in the power of the air or the media, the airwaves, if you will. So be careful with that because the leader of the power of the air is the devil, the Bible tells us in Ephesians 2.

So often, whether it be about whatever, if you watch a movie, oh my goodness, it is hard to find a good, clean moral movie. How many of you struggle with that? We sure struggle with that. I am just being very open about it. We struggle, man. Is there anything wholesome?

The other night, I am probably saying more than we wanted to watch something, you know, and we use the Internet, and we have all the clear view and all these different things. My wife said, “How about this one?” It was set back in time. I said, “It looks like it is wholesome. Let us watch that one.” And I will be honest with you, it had parts in it I was not happy about. I felt like it dragged me down a little bit spiritually. Y’all never have those things, do you? Come on now. Let us take the facade off; we are all there. I was thinking, I thought we watched something wholesome. So, no matter what, be careful with media.

Now, when I say that, let me go back and say this: Am I saying that everything Israel does is right and the right decision? No. Israel, and some Israelis for sure, do some very sinful things. Many Israelis are very liberal in their political views. I do not like that. So, am I saying that everything Israel does is right and wonderful, that we are supposed to support everything they do? No, I am not saying that.

But I would say I would be a little careful with media. I would say this: I would check a little bit of history here. We are going to get more to Bible things, but we are just talking about what is going on in our day and time. Let us just take Hamas. There is a little history there. They have been saying they are going to wipe out Israel for years and years.

If anyone that studied up a little bit, they would agree they have often put their warriors, their fighters, in schools, underneath hospitals, in churches. That is pretty common; they do those tactics trying to protect their fighters with innocent children in hospitals and so on. You understand what I am saying? I have had a little history there.

Israel is far from perfect, but I will say Israel historically, before they bomb a building, they will let them know in advance. They will drop leaflets out of planes: “This neighborhood, this subdivision is going to be bombed. Get out of that neighborhood.” This has been—I am not just talking about the latest year and a half here—I am talking about for years and years, these things have been going on. You understand where I am coming from. So, I would just say I am not going to get into all the specifics of this incident or that incident. Nobody is perfect at all. But I would go back and get a little overview of this situation, all right?

Then in June, this is where the Christians really got involved. There was this debate between Senator Ted Cruz and Tucker Carlson. That little firefight, and just a couple days after, someone, one of our men, asked about this. It is interesting; they say on X—you know, it used to be Twitter—within 24 hours, there were 6 million views just of that right there. And then Candace Owens, by the way, she is an open Catholic, put her two cents in and really went after the Scofield Bible. I am like, man, let us still talk about the Bible; do not deter the subject. Do not change the subject here.

By the way, I like Scofield; I use the notes. He is not the Bible, but anyway, anybody—I know what I am talking about? Am I talking to strangers out there? Some of you do. So, what is the truth? Where should we stand on these things? Where does God stand on these things? I just want to say again, neither side is totally perfect. We are not supposed to say everything Israel does is great and wonderful. But I do want to give you a biblical view of Israel.

Look over, if you will, in Genesis chapter 12. Genesis chapter 12 is really where it all started. It is very interesting. We typically call this the Abrahamic covenant, but I will be honest with you, you will never find the word “covenant” in Genesis 12. That sometimes can throw people a little bit, and they will use this one as their main passage. I do not know that we should probably do that, but you will not find the word covenant in Genesis chapter 12. But this is where it starts. I want to go back there and just kind of use this as a start of this thing. We already have Romans 11:1 where it says, “Has Israel cast away? God forbid.” But let us go over here to kind of the beginning of this thing.

There is this man named Abram, who later on becomes Abraham. He lived in Ur of the Chaldees, which was typically a prosperous place, but a lot of times when prosperity becomes very sinful—and best we understand, a very sinful place—I tend to think his family was very sinful. Historians agree, but not just that, but because God tells him, “Won’t you leave that place and your family?” Sometimes God does that. If they were godly folk, I do not know that God would have done that.

Look at Genesis 12, look at verse number one. “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a—” what is the next word?—“land.” So, I want you to see when it is taught we are starting this word, it does not say covenant here; it will later on in other passages. But it is not just talking about an ethnic race; it is talking about a land. He starts off with a land. Y’all with me?

All right. He says, “unto a land that I will show thee.” Verse number two: “I will make of thee a great—” what is the next word?—“nation,” a country, an ethnic group, if you will. “And I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.”

Now, that last little phrase we read there, I believe, is speaking of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ comes from the seed of Abraham, and then actually through Isaac. You remember, then Isaac and Rebecca, they had Jacob and Esau. Jacob, God changed his name to Israel. And Israel had 12 sons; that is how you have the 12 tribes of Israel. Jesus comes from the tribe of Judah. So, Jesus came. Jesus was a Jewish person. He was a Jewish individual. He came from a certain tribe of the nation of Israel. I believe that is what is talking about, that last part there. He said, “all the families.” By the way, John 1:9: “Jesus lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” Some reject that light, but He lights every man.

So, that is the first time, really. We often call that the Abrahamic covenant, but covenant is not mentioned there. But that is the beginning of it all there, and I want you to see that.

Now look over in chapter 13. Chapter 13, if you would, please. Abraham has moved over to the land of Canaan, or Israel, if you will, and he takes his nephew Lot with him. They are very blessed; they have a lot of cattle, and they begin to have disagreements; their herdsmen begin to fight with each other.

Abraham said, “I tell you what, Lot, you choose one direction. You go that way, I’ll go the opposite way.” There is an important principle there: the stronger one often gives in. Not always, but the stronger often—in marriage, often the stronger gives in. Anyway, you said, “Don’t go there, preacher. Don’t go from preaching to meddling.”

But Abraham says, “Hey, whichever way I’ll go, you go that way and I’ll take the other way.” Lot chose the well-watered plains of the Jordan, Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham took the other side.

Then after that, God says, “Let Me talk to you, Abraham. Let Me talk to you about this.” Look in verse number 14 of Genesis chapter 13. “And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes and look from the place where thou art northward and southward and eastward and westward.” I will take the south every time. No, I am joking about that right there. My wife is from New Jersey; I better be careful right there now.

Watch this. Verse number 15: “For all the—” what is the next word?—“land.” We are not just talking about to people; we are talking about to land. “For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy—” what is the next word?—“seed.” That is the ethnic race. “To thy seed.” So, we have a land, we have an ethnic race. What are the next two words?

“Forever.” Until Israel rejects Jesus, is that what it says? Help me out. What does forever mean? Forever. What old John Rice used to say, we will talk about it later on. Let us talk about what it says right now.

Pretty amazing right there. Pretty clear the Lord’s view on that subject. Let us keep going. Verse number 16: “I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it, for I will give it unto thee.”

Pretty amazing. God said that. By the way, it reminds me of the rancher. Two ranchers were talking. They were bragging; they were from Texas. Anybody from Texas here? Oh, my goodness. We have two people. We have a guest from Texas, Ms. Barbara Austin, that is right. I forgot. You and your husband were Texas. Anyway, so I will be careful how I tell this thing. The two ranchers from Texas did everything bigger and better.

The one guy was bragging. He said, “Man, I can get up in the morning, hop in my pickup truck and drive as far as I want to: to the east, never run out of my ranch; to the west, never run out of my ranch; to the north, never run off my ranch; to the south, never run off my ranch.” He said, “What do you think about that?” He said, “I used to have a pickup truck that broke down like that too.”

Now look at chapter number 15. Genesis 15. Here we have a ceremony going on. Abraham had taken these sacrifices and cut them in half, split them, and he is walking down the middle of that. It is a ceremony, kind of like you are saying, “I’m signing it in blood,” that type of thing.

We do not have time to get into the whole lot of it, but just look down in verse number 18 of Genesis chapter 15. “In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy—” what is the next word?—“seed.” That ethnic race. “Have I given this—” what?—“land.” That is the land. That is a location. “From the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.”

By the way, Israel has not possessed all that. They will one day. It is a covenant; I am going to give it to you. It is not a requirement; it has restrictions. It only just says that is what I am going to do.

Now look over in chapter number 17. Genesis 17. You will find the word “covenant” 13 times. In fact, in Genesis 17, you will find this phrase three times: “everlasting covenant.” Wow.

Let us look at this very briefly. Before this, Abraham and Sarah had backslid. They doubted God, and Abraham married not just Sarah, but then his handmaid Hagar. From Abraham and Hagar, they had a son called Ishmael. God tells Abram here a little bit into this; He says, “Hey, no, no, no, the promise is not through Ishmael and Hagar. No, no.” By the way, that is the picture of works—it is what Abraham and Sarah kind of worked up, and Hagar got involved, the picture of the world. It is what works we can do in this world will never save us, as a picture of it there.

And He said, “No, no, no. It is going to come. I have promised you, and by faith you have to believe that, that My seed is going to come through you and Sarah.” And He is telling him that. Abraham, it seems, chapter 17, “All right, all right, Lord, we are getting at this thing. We are a little slow, Lord, but we are getting at that thing.”

Look in verse number six of Genesis 17. Y’all still with me out there? Verse number six: “And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations—” notice that plural—“nations of thee.” Now, what are the nations? That is more than just Israel; nations. That is Israel, but many of the nations around it. Israel today, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria—some of them, just all Iran, Iraq—a lot of these countries are descendants of Ishmael. Okay, y’all be out there. And they come, but it is always amazing to me they all like to link back to Abraham. Even the Muslims like to link back to Abraham.

He is saying, “Now, I’ll make of you, Abraham, many, many nations.” All right. Now let us keep going. Verse number six: “And kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee, and thy—” what is the next word?—“seed” after thee, “and their generations for—” and what are the next two words?—“everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy—” what is the next word?—“seed” after thee. “And I will give unto thee thy seed” [ethnic race] “after thee, and the—” what is the next two words?—“land where thou art a stranger, and all the—” what?—“land of Canaan for—” and what?—“everlasting possession: and I will be their God.”

Now let us look over in verse number 19. He narrows the picture just a bit, verse number 19, because he is talking about nations. So he narrows it a little bit more. What about this everlasting possession, everlasting covenant? Who is this to? All the nations? Let us look and see what God says. Verse number 19: Y’all with me? Verse number 19. “And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed.” Isaac was not born yet. “And thou shalt call his name Isaac. And I will establish my covenant with—” what is the next word?—“him.”

Time out, friend. Is that not clear or not? Very clear. It is not saying everything Israel does, but God says, “I’m the one that gave them that land. I have covenants with that seed, and it is the seed of Isaac.” Very clear in Scripture. Very clear in Scripture. Everlasting, by the way. Everlasting.

Where are we at? Where are we at? Someone got off the subject. Who did that? I will tell you what there. I want to establish my covenant with him, verse number 19, for an everlasting covenant. Wow. Did y’all get that everlasting covenant? Wow. Can everlasting end? Who made this promise? Did some man make this promise? God made this promise. Watch that over there, Malachi 3:6: “I am the Lord, I change not.” Everlasting covenant.

With him—that is Isaac. Look at this thing here. With him—well, that is just Isaac? No, look at the rest of the verse. “And with his—” what?—“seed.” That is an ethnic race. “With his seed after him.” Now he says, “I am not doing Ishmael wrong.” Look at verse number 20: “And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. Twelve princes shall Ishmael beget, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with—” help me out—“with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee about this time in the next year.”

Now, friend, it is fairly… It is clear from Scripture that God wants Israel. By the way, if you check that out, the boundaries, the land that He gave, it includes Gaza.

For years, Israel did reject Jesus. For years and years, Israel did not possess any of that land. It actually shows the miracle of God. You will never find another nation or ethnic group like this. But actually, you know, in AD 70, Titus came in there and took Jerusalem. After they began to spread, the Israelites scattered them around the world, just like God said. For 1,800 years, Jewish people, the ethnic race, was scattered around the world. Usually, they are just gone. But that race, even after they were scattered, taken as prisoners around the world, as slaves around the world, they stayed an ethnic race. And then that ethnic race came back to that same land 1,800 years later.

In 1948, it became a nation again, the nation of Israel. They did not actually have the capital city of Jerusalem at that time. 1967, the Six-Day War. That is actually when they took Jerusalem and they gained a lot of territory. But that is prophetic; that is God, because God made it an everlasting covenant, the everlasting covenant. Everlasting covenant. Everlasting possession. Not just to Abraham and his seed—yes, we got your 12 princes coming out of you—but to Isaac and Isaac, you and Rebecca, y’all have some children: Jacob. And Jacob wasn’t the perfect guy, just like Israel’s not perfect, but God did, after he wrestled with the angel of the Lord all night long and changed his name to Israel, and he had those 12 sons, the 12 tribes of Israel. God said, “That’s the ones that I made the covenant and the everlasting covenant and the everlasting possession with.” Y’all with me out there? Very, very biblical.

Now, let me just try to briefly—we won’t have much time—but briefly, would you look over in Galatians chapter 3? Probably the biggest critic of this is, “Well, we are all one in Christ.” If you venture into this subject much at all, you will hear that. “We are no longer Jew nor Gentile,” and on and on. So, what is going on there with that? I want you to see several different places they will use, but this is probably the most popular one that they will use when you come to that subject.

Look over in Galatians chapter 3, and we are going to look, if you would please, at verse number 26. Galatians 3, looking at verse number 26. By the way, if you come to this subject, this is typically in there. They believe the church has replaced Israel, or the church will reap all the fulfillment of the promises instead of Israel. They will use passages like this right here. So, let us look at it.

Galatians 3, looking at verse number 26: “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Jesus Christ,” excuse me, “in Christ Jesus.” What is that subject? What is the subject he is talking about right there? Say it out loud if you can. What is the subject he is talking about? I think I heard salvation. Salvation.

When he is talking about this right here, friend, he is not talking about ethnic races. He is not talking about land. He is talking about salvation. When you become a born-again Christian, you are born into the family of God; you become a child of God. We are the children of God. We are regenerating. He is not talking about ethnic races there. He is not talking about—no, you are changing the context here. The context is very clear in Scripture. He is talking about salvation. Very, very clear.

So when you say, “We are all one in Christ,” we are one in Christ. Praise the Lord for that. You put your faith in Christ, you are going to heaven. We are going to—praise the Lord—we are part of the family of God.

But I still have half Hungarian blood in me, half—I think a little bit of Heinz 57, a little bit of everything in me on the other side. That is just my ethnic race, friend. Can’t change it. I am saying, yeah, but does it change my ethnic race? No. Two different subjects, friend. It is salvation; that is the context right there. We are all one in Christ.

By the way, praise the Lord for that. “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” We are born into the family of God. We are in Jesus’ body. We discussed it a couple weeks ago. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”

By the way, if I use that same argument, then that would stand for transgender. If I use that same argument, I say, “Well, forget male and female; we are all one in Christ.” That is what it says. Am I preaching the Bible or not? Yes. I am talking about ethnic race and all that. It is talking about salvation.

And by the way, my wife can pray to the Lord through Jesus just as well as I can. We are one in Christ, speaking of salvation, very clear in Scripture. Oh, let us see here. Verse number 20: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Not talking about your ethnic race, talking about spiritually.

That is why we sing, “How many have ever sang that crazy song, Father Abraham?” Have you ever been out of breath singing “Father Abraham”? He said, “Well, the dumbest thing in the world to sing this song.” But that is why we can sing it. Because once you are born of the family of God, spiritually, salvation, it goes back to Jesus coming through the line or lineage of Abraham and Jacob in the tribe of Judah. See? It is not so much your ethnic group; not at all, friend.

In fact, we owe the Jewish people a great debt. I have already mentioned Jesus was a Jew. Look over, if you will, real quickly here in Romans chapter 3. Romans chapter 3. So much more could be said in Romans 11 specifically, but Romans chapter 3.

I want you just see this, verse number two. We will start in verse number one. He says, “What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.” Jesus was a Jew; He came through the Jewish people. And the Bible—you know how we got the Bible? We got it. God used these Jewish men to pen the words of God. And so you owe to them, if you will, the Messiah came through the Jewish people. He was a Jewish person. And then the Bible that tells us about the Messiah came through the Jewish people. My praise God for them. That is a good thing. It is a wonderful thing.

In fact, the Bible even says this, Psalms 122: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: They shall prosper that love thee.” Again, I am not saying that everything they do is perfect and right. The biggest peace they can have is peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ for them to get saved. I have a relative that is Jewish, and I pray for them every day to get saved. And there are Jewish people that get saved, not that meaning a whole lot more Gentiles, but they get saved. It is only in part, Romans tells us. But they get saved today.

We do not have time. I was going to go over to Jeremiah 30 or 31, 35 through 37. Jeremiah 31:35 through this. Don’t look it up now; write it down. That is where he says, look at the sun, stars don’t come up and the stars all messed up. All right, then you can start thinking that maybe God left Israel out. You know the picture, but it seems like God knew some of these things would come up, and so He put wonderful verses in to cover those subjects. But we are not going to take time on that.

Let me just briefly—now I am going to go fast. We have been going a little slow. We are going to go fast-forward for just a little bit to give you the future of Israel. We have covered this; we have given videos about it. You can go back and look up some series we did on end-time studies and all that. We are going to go real quick here for just a minute, all right?

The next big thing on the prophetic calendar is the Rapture. We do not know when. Everything has been fulfilled that needs to be fulfilled. Jesus could come back at any time; it is ready to go. And Jesus—He is going to come. First Thessalonians 4:13 to 18 describes the rapture. We call it rapture, right? The word “rapture” is not in the Bible, but it is described very well in First Thessalonians 4:13–18. That is when Jesus is going to come back for His own. If you are a born-again Christian, a Jew or Gentile, boom, we are out of here. We are going to go to heaven. Praise the Lord for that. We have got no more worries. We are going to be at the marriage supper of the Lamb for seven years. Amen.

Here is a good thing about that: no calories, no carbs. Eat all you want. I am going to have a river flowing behind my house that has either—it is going to change day to day—Mountain Dew or Dr. Pepper in there, amen? Drink all I want, never get fat. That is a good thing. No diabetes. We are going to be with the Lord at the marriage supper of the Lamb.

While that is going on up there, while we are with the Lord, He takes this—by the way, if you are going to go in and shoot up a house, you are going to get your bride out of there first. He gets His bride out of there. Then down here on this earth is this seven years, what is often called the Tribulation period.

At the beginning of the Tribulation period, the Bible says that the Antichrist (Daniel 9:27) gets Israel and these nations that have been warring against Israel for years and years, and he is going to get them to sign a seven-year peace contract. And he is going to seem like the hero. The Jews are going to fall for him, hook, line, and sinker. They rejected Jesus; you reject the light, darkness comes. They fall for him, hook, line, and sinker. I believe that is what the Bible means in John 5:43: “I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.” And they receive the Antichrist. They think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and he is bringing peace. They think he is wonderful.

For the first three and a half years, it is the Tribulation period, but in the middle of the Tribulation period, there is what happens called the Abomination of the Desolation. The Antichrist goes into the temple—that’s how we know there’s going to be a third temple; it’s going to be rebuilt, at least part of it—where they offer up sacrifices. And the Antichrist is going to go in there and commit an abomination. I think he is going to take a pig and slaughter it and throw its guts out there. There was a man in the Old Testament, Antiochus Epiphanes, that was the type of the Antichrist; I get it from that. But we don’t know that. But he is going to go on there, and the big thing is, he is going to set himself up as God.

Remember, he is the anti-Christ, the anti-Jesus. Just like Jesus was crucified on the cross, he will have a wound to the head, the Bible says. Usually, that is a death wound. He lives through that. He is mimicking Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. But there’s three and a half years, he really just turns; he flips on Israel with a vengeance. And he gets the world—and I believe that, by Zechariah 14—the world to go against Israel. And it is going to be, it is going to be, it is going to be a time where Israel is just—by the way, the closer we get, there will be more of this hatred of Jews going on because it is leaning up to that where the Antichrist turns the world against them.

So, all this fussing and fighting going on, that is the world not falling apart; it is falling into place for it. Don’t worry too much about it, but know which signs you ought to look for, but don’t worry. No, it is just falling right into place according to the Bible plan.

Well, they will turn on Israel. And actually, Israel has a wonderful revival. Now, many Jewish people already have been killed, been wiped out. By the way, it is not a replacement of Israel, but there is a refinement of Israel. I wouldn’t say that for sure. And God does go back and use the Jewish people again. There are 144,000 Jewish evangelists that go around the world. The Bible says every tribe, every nation, every language, people get saved. Those that have not heard a clear presentation of the gospel, they get saved. God uses the Jewish people again. God has to protect the Jewish people because the military is going after them.

And that kind of culminates at the end of the Great Tribulation period, at the end of that, when Jesus—He says, “Hey, that’s My people.” And, oh, Antichrist, you’ve been after Me and My people for a long time. By the way, if you don’t think Satan hates Israel, read Revelation chapter 12. It’s in there, friend. He hates them.

And that’s when Jesus comes back, and He’s going to be on a white horse. We’re going to be cowboys. Amen. Brother Adam, keep your boots on. We’re good to go there. We’re going to be riding horses following Him. By the way, we don’t have to do any fighting. Jesus will do the fighting. He’ll destroy the Antichrist—two different things—by the brightness of His coming. Satan and the Antichrist—the Antichrist that Satan possessed at that point—even Satan can’t handle the brightness of Jesus by the brightness of His coming and by the word of us, by the sharp two-edged sword. We’re going to watch; we’re the bride. We’re going to watch our Husband do the fight. We’re going to say, “Yeah, Jesus!”

When Jesus is going to come back, He’s going to put His feet physically on the Mount of Olives. Remember, He left there in Acts chapter 1. He said, “Just like I left, I’m coming back.” And He puts His feet on the Mount of Olives, and it splits. By the way, they say there’s an earthquake fault line already over there, ready to go. Amen. Not falling—don’t get too shook up. It’s falling into place, friend.

And He’s going to put His feet on the Mount of Olives, and the earth’s going to say, “Whoa, this is My Creator right here.” And that’s when He’s going to march into Jerusalem. He’s going to set His throne up in Jerusalem. He’s going to sit on the throne of David. That’s going to be the Washington D.C. of the world at that time. And He’s going to set up His millennial reign. All right.

But this everlasting covenant—He has not forgotten about them. He’s going to use them again. That was His first plan: to work through them. They messed it up, yes. God didn’t change. He said it’s an everlasting covenant; it’s going to happen.

Now, let me just say this. I’m going to change gears for just a second here. I hope this will be a blessing for someone. God always uses the devil as His pawn. He always does.

You remember Job? That’s the guy in the Bible that got a job, right before the book of Psalms, you know. But you don’t know Job? It’s interesting; God’s the one that brought Job up to the devil. Remember, God uses the devil as His pawn.

And He said, “Hast thou considered my servant Job?” The devil says, “Yeah, but you’ve given him protection. I said, ‘All right, go ahead, get him a little bit. I’ll lift my hand of protection. Can’t touch his body quite yet.’”

And then after that, you know, come back another day, and the devil says, “Yeah, he’s still serving. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but skin for skin.” God says, “All right, I’ll let you touch his body. Can’t take his life.” And you know what? Through that whole thing, I got to go quick through the whole thing—God was using the devil. God didn’t do those things; the devil did those things. But God was using the devil to purify His servant, get rid of the self-righteousness that was in Job. Job said, “Hey, though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.”

Even at the cross, God used Satan as His pawn. “We’re going to kill him. We’ve got all the angels”—excuse me, the demons—“let’s kill him.” And they crucified our Savior. Can you imagine three days Satan and his clan thinking, “Why did we want God? I’m just using you, Satan.” Because through the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior brings our salvation to mankind. God uses the devil often.

“Hey, Lord, you’ve got to take away this thorn in the flesh. It’s a messenger of Satan to buffet me.” Check it out, 2 Corinthians 12. God was using, even there, God was using the devil as His pawn. And God said, “No, Paul, I’m not removing My grace; it is sufficient for thee. For My strength is made perfect in weakness.” He said that this thing is coming because I had this revelation; I don’t want to get proud. And God uses—friend, I’m just saying throughout history, you can check that out—God uses the devil as His pawn.

No, Israel is not going to be replaced, but the Lord does use the devil in all the Hitlers and everybody going after Israel to refine Israel. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. They need it.

Friendly, let’s change it for just a second here. Two conclusions, we’re done. God’s allowing those things in your life, the Satan to work. Those things are just killing you sometimes; God wants to use that. Those things—man, it’s just killing me—it’s the devil. God’s allowing it; He’s trying to use that. The same thing the devil’s trying to wipe you out, God’s trying to grow you. I guarantee it. Guarantee it.

Two conclusions, we’re done. Number one, and I hope this comes across right, but number one: Accept it.

Pray, pray, pray, pray until God does something. But God did do something after Paul prayed. He said, “Paul, I’m allowing this; I’m not taking this away.” And Paul replied, “Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” Stop fighting against every bad, quote unquote, bad thing in your life and say, “Hey, God’s allowed this for a reason. I’m going to accept it.”

It was a good day for me when I—you know, I lost my fingers, and I go back to tie my shoes, and it takes you 10 minutes to tie your shoes. And then it comes untied three minutes later. I mean, I’m a 20-something-year-old guy; I’m wearing Velcro shoes like old men wear. The world was going on. But it was a good day when I said, “Lord, I’m not saying I like this, but I’m going to accept this thing. You’re doing something in my life.” And stop fighting against every bad thing in your life.

Hey, pray about it; ask God to take it away. But there comes a point where you have to say, “I’m going to accept what God’s allowed in my life.” It is hard to accept it for him. I hope Ms. Wanda doesn’t get mad at me for saying this, but I look at her and as Brother Frank had that pancreatic cancer, as it was getting closer, there came a point. God very clearly had spoken to them, and they said, “All right, we’re not liking it, we don’t want it, but we’re going to accept it.” They did for him. They’re so wise of them. Brother Frank’s in heaven now. And friend, I’m just saying, accept it. God’s doing something.

Sometimes we’ll spend the rest of our life—30, 40, 50 years—battling against the very thing that God is trying to bring good out of in your life. Accept it.

And then number two: Use it. “Lord, you bring good out of it. I don’t like it, and it hurts, and it’s no fun,” and all the pain of it all. I guarantee you, Job experienced a whole lot of pain. But accept it. Jesus in the garden: “Not My will, but Thine.” But He accepted it. And then, “Lord, would You use it? Would You use it?” He’ll use it to grow you, and He will use it to help others. Lord, use it. I don’t like this, but Lord, would You use it?

One illustration, we’re done. Promise you. The illustration is only two hours long. We’re good.

How many have ever heard or you’ve ever read or watched the movie—there are several movies about it—but Pilgrim’s Progress? You ever read or heard of that book, Pilgrim’s Progress? They say it is one of the all-time, of all-time, most printed books. It’s hard to say how many; some have put a number of 250 million copies have been printed. Not just a bestseller for one year, but all time. Over 200 languages that’s been translated into. It’s been read by Christians for over 300 years. Wow. Never went out of print. About 330-something years it never went out of print. It’s a pretty amazing book. All the millions of men have been encouraged by it. Many editions and revisions of it.

But you know where that came from? John Bunyan, England, back in the day, preaching. He didn’t want a license from the church because he didn’t believe like the church. He didn’t think being baptized in the Anglican church and doing the sacraments saved. It’s just Jesus and Jesus only saved. “I’m not going to get a license from them; I got my license from heaven to preach.” Amen.

And they put him in jail—not for one night, not for a couple months, not for a couple years—for 12 long years, that man sat in jail for 12 years. Twelve years.

Some say this—I don’t know if this is true; I’ve tried to find out, I’ve never found anything good enough to say it. Some say that his blind daughter would come and say, “Dad, if you stop preaching, they’ll let you out.” They would use her. And they’d say, “I’m going to keep preaching; I’ve got to be true to my Savior.” There are arguments about the documents. Some say they would use just anything he could find to write that book on.

But just there in that jail for 12 years, I promise you Satan was after him. But God had a different plan. He was using the devil as a pawn. He got that man away from everything, everybody. And for that, I don’t know how many years it took him to write it. He wrote it, and for over 300 years, it’s never been out of print. Millions and millions of copies.

Yes, Satan’s trying to work on you. He’s trying to destroy you. But friend, you rest assured, except that God’s doing something there too. He’s allowing it for a reason, and He wants to use it to grow you and to help others.

Would you bow your heads and close your eyes? Heads bowed and eyes closed.

And I’m going to ask a couple questions just trying to draw us to a decision here. But you say, “Preacher, there are some things in my life, and yes, I’m going to keep praying for it until God gives you a conclusion, but as best I can, I’m going to accept it. I’m going to say, ‘Okay, God, You’ve got a reason,’ like Jesus did: ‘Not My will, but Thine.’ And I’m just going to accept it. All right, Lord. Okay. I’m going to accept what You’ve allowed in my life. I’m going to stop battling and fighting and being bitter and all the rest.” God spoke to my heart; I need to accept what God’s allowed in my life. If that’s you this morning, God spoke to my heart about that. God bless you. That’s good. That’s good. There are always going to be those seasons, and they’re never fun. The devil’s doing it, but God does use the devil as a pawn.

You say, “Lord, would You use it in my life? I believe I’m supposed to grow through this thing. God’s trying to grow me, trying to refine me through this thing. I want to come forth as gold like Job did.” God spoke to my heart. I’m asking You, would You use this thing in my life? On a personal level, would You grow me through it? Teach me. I’m going to be better; I’m going to be closer to You. Use it in my life. God bless you. God bless you. Good, good. Many hands. Thank you so very much.

You say, “Lord, would You use it in others? I want other people to get helped through what I’m going through.” That’s you this morning. Often that’s how God works in your life: not to you, but through you. God bless you. Thank you so much.

One more question, we’re done. The greatest thing that God wants to do if you’re not saved is draw you to Him at salvation. I would venture to say maybe the majority of people get saved during tough times. I think of a man; he would not listen to me. Then he had a stroke; he listened to me a little bit more. Then he had a major stroke, and then he was ready to listen. He got saved. I hate the stroke; he couldn’t move his left side. But, old friend, I’m so glad it was worth it; he got saved.

If you hear this morning, you said, “Preacher, I don’t know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I don’t know that I’m saved.” Right there where you are, if you know you’re a sinner, you believe Jesus died on the cross and rose again, you would accept what He did on the cross is your way to heaven right there—would you call Him right now? Would you call Him in your heart? Believe in your heart unto righteousness, Romans says. Would you call Him, “Dear Jesus, I admit I’m a sinner. I understand I can’t save myself. But I believe You died on the cross for me. Right now, Jesus, would You pay for my sin debt? Would You be my personal Savior? Thank You, Jesus, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

If you just prayed that, I’m not going to have you raise your hand. I’m going to ask you just a minute; we’re going to stand. We’re going to pray. There will be a man in the back, there will be a man down front. They’re going to give you some literature; they’re going to try to help in your journey for the Lord. We want to be a help to you.

Let’s all stand, if you would, please. Let’s all stand. We’ll have a word of prayer. Would you just be obedient to how God is leading you? Thank You, Lord, that we have the security that Your plan is still in effect. You’re overseeing. Lord, I pray, help us to accept the things You’ve allowed in our life, grow us, then Lord use it to help others. Lord, if someone got saved, let them be bold enough to shake these men’s hands so it will be a help to them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Would you come as God leads you? We covered a vast array of subjects this morning, good old friend. In the end, God had a plan; it will be fulfilled. God has a plan for that thing in your life. “Lord, I accept it. I don’t like it, but I accept it.” And we know that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” I reckon that “the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Lord, use it in my life; grow me. Would You use it in other people’s lives? Amen.

I hear the cry of Moses to Pharaoh: “Let my people go.” Amen. We will be dismissed. Glad you were in church this morning. We covered a lot of different subjects. We got it. This is the revelation. Wow. You know, so we’re going to skip church? No, we’re not going to do that. We’re back at 6 o’clock. Be back in your place tonight, looking forward to another good service in God’s house tonight.
