He wants me to be part of his work
May 4, 2026
That’s awesome singing. Praise the Lord. I like to see new members in the choir. I like that. I see Miss Risa up there. Seeing Miss Alice Hammond up there. And I’ve seen Brother Steve Goldforth up there. Praise the Lord, some new ones in there. I like that. We need some men in there. And I thought, well, we’ve got some ladies. And I look at there. Steve Goldfors is in there too.
Even though, well, I won’t go anything about his selfie stick, I won’t say anything about that. But that was great. Did a good job. Looking forward to hearing y’all sing on Thursday.
And excited about our people singing there, and we’ll have some other folks singing too, but that would be great.
Amen. Thank you for joining. We’re glad to have you part of the family. That’s a blessing. We’re blessed by.
Amen, amen. Brother James had a brand new bus rider, Anthony, if I remember right, was his name, and James got to lead him to the Lord today. So praise Lord for that. That’s awesome. Yes, sir. Praise the Lord. He’s here to that. Praise Jesus. Amen. I like it. I like it.
Malaysia back there. Amen. Amen. Her papa had open heart surgery. Made it good. Amen. Amen. Amen. That’s right. That’s good.

That your papa made it through surgery. He had back surgery. That’s true. That’s true. Amen. Amen. That’s good.
We’ve got the little girl giving praise this night. Lily Rose back there. I could see that Jesus saved her. Amen. Amen. I was about to worry that brother Joshua had surgery or something we didn’t know about it. You know, Jesus saved her. Amen. I love it. She got saved recently, so that’s awesome. Praise the Lord. That’s great.
Amen. Brother Josh just recently preached in chapel and he mentioned that years when as a boy, one verse stuck in his heart. That’s how the Lord works. In all those years, that verse was still there and just never left him. That’s the way the Lord just drives the truth deep in our heart. What was that? I can’t remember the verse. Amen? Amen.
Amen, trust the Lord of all the heart. I don’t understand all the always acknowledge him. He shod direct that past. That’s great. It’s awesome. Amen.
Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord. I got to tell on Miss Stacy, I hope they don’t mind, but one year we had had rain, and it had stopped, you know, but it was still just a little wet. We were having on the front side of the square, and I’ve seen Miss Stacy, for the most part, do it to herself on purpose, but she got underneath one of those, and she grabbed the limb and just shook it, and, boy, that water just came down. I still remember that.
Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. Brother Patterson’s back. It’s just amazing. Brother Patterson will go to Walmart. If it’s cold, he’ll just go to Walmart inside and pass out tracks. And just whoever trying to tell people about Jesus Christ, I love it. I love it. So it keeps him going, amen.
Ms. Jennifer’s going to double dip. Oh, my goodness there. Amen. Amen. She did a great job. It’s biblical. It’s so good. It’s so very good. By the way, Tim and Jennifer did a great job with that special this morning. That was a good song. Did a good job with it. Amen.
Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Good. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
Amen. Ms. Patterson. Amen. Have you ever heard of someone giving someone a place to live, a house? Praise the Lord. God takes care of us. Amen. That’s awesome. Praise the Lord. Just great. Amen.
Amen, amen. Praise Lord for a daughter that turned to the Lord instead of away from the Lord at a time like that. God was very gracious, and praise the Lord, took care of it. That’s a blessing. Thank you for Sheriff.
Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. Amen. Amen. Just so glad to have the Goldforths on board and getting busy for the Lord. They’ve been busy, but the preaching funerals last Monday for us and singing and preaching here there. We’re going to have him. He’s going to preach from the rooftop here pretty soon. I don’t know. We’re having to do a little bit of everything, but they’re a blessing. They’re awesome. They’re awesome.
Miss Stacy. Amen. Amen, amen, amen. Appreciate your faithfulness through difficult times. Amen, amen, amen.
Yes, ma’am, Miss Mickey. Amen. Amen, amen. It’s awesome. Be still and know that I’m God. Just cut it all out, get still, and know that I’m God. That’s awesome. Good to have Brother Bill Gillespie down with us today. That’s a blessing. And, Brother Bill. Amen, amen. Brother Bill is going to spend a lot of time with his family. That’s awesome. That’s awesome. Praise the Lord for that. That’s just great. And what a blessing.
Anybody want to get the last word in? Anybody want to get the last word in? All right. Yes, sir, Brother Brooks. Amen. Amen. Amen, amen. Brooks got a salvation settled and in church. We’re glad he’s here. That’s awesome. And praise Lord. Good to have him here tonight. And that’s awesome. I told him, I said, we put the police looking for him this morning, but they said he was too fast. They couldn’t catch him. So it’s here tonight, so that’s a good thing. So amen for that. Amen for that.
Thursday night. Now, don’t forget, no Wednesday night service. We change everything over to Thursday. And at 6 o’clock, the singing starts. I’m excited about that. Brother Dusty Ray and those folks will be singing some, our choir and some of our folks singing specials. But looking forward to Thursday night. And at 6 o’clock, that starts 6:30. Right on 6:30, we’ll have the service, prayer service. Come ready to pray.
And let’s, you know, we don’t mind people seeing this, but it’s not about that. Let’s come sincerely seeking the Lord’s grace and mercy on America. And it’s not a real long service, but we want to take time to pray for our country. And we need it, so make sure you’re there on Thursday night. Bring someone with you.
Bring someone with you. And by the way, other churches typically, if they had midweek service, it’s on Wednesday so they can come Thursday. Bring them out. Just be good to have a whole lot of Christians. We won’t be promoting our church. We’re promoting praying for America. And so bring them out. Be good to have a good number of Christians from all over being there praying for it. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see that all across America? Just people praying for our nation.
One of our old youth directors way back, Brother Bruce, he was here for a while, but I went out there and preached his church in Colorado. And he said, yeah, we do that here too. And I don’t know if they do it at the same time. I can’t remember, but I like it. Man, just imagine all across America churches meeting together.
And out in the open, courthouses wherever, just praying for our country. And so let’s be there Thursday night and be ready to go on that. Looking forward to it, looking forward to hearing our people sing too. That would be awesome. And be a good, good thing.
Usherers have you come for offering. If you’re willing to help us in the audio visual, audio video, that would be great. Meeting May 29th, this is Saturday. 6 p.m., I believe we’ll have some food there also. And even if you’re already in it, come because they’re going to change over softwares.
So you got to get used to all that, be trained in that. If you’ve never been involved, you’re just kind of interested. Go to it and check it out, see what you think of it. And that’d be a great thing. And I think we’ve got it all covered. But that’s an important ministry. And I’m excited about getting a new building. And here we have one camera. It’s sufficient. But, you know, just one view after a while, it kind of gets glazed over whatnot. We’ll have other cameras. We’ll need help in the new building on that.
And so if you could help us in it, that would be great and be a hope even on our, just our online presence. So let’s do our best on that.
Praise Lord for a new deacon in church, Brother David McCore. Good to have him. Pray Lord, he’s on board out sorting with this yesterday. And just a good Godly man been serving the Lord for years and years and years. Praise Lord for him. And Brother David McCore, would you at least work prayer for offering, please?
You can stay seated for this one. We’ll turn to 459. Number 459. Let him have his way with thee. 459.
Amen. Amen. Turn your Bible as if it would to First Corinthians chapter number three. First Corinthians chapter number three. I love some of those songs and sometimes an invitational song, but we don’t necessarily sing invitational songs here now anymore. And I’m good with all that the way we do it now. I like it. But sometimes I miss singing I surrender all.
All to Jesus, I surrender, all to Him I. There’s a good songs to sing, sometimes just to sing him to the Lord. Or great, great songs. And that’s a little bit along that line. Let him have his way with thee. And a great, great song.
First Corinthians chapter number three. And we’ll read just a couple of verses there. Then we’ll jump over to 2nd Corinthians 6 and verse number one, a familiar truth. But just briefly. I think the Lord would have us just kind of be reminded of it tonight.
1 Corinthians 3, and we’re going to start in verse number 6. If you’re able to, would you please stand as we read God’s word together, 1 Corinthians 3 and verse number 6 of God’s word. And it says there, he says, as Paul, God is speaking to Paul. He says, I have planted, Apollos watered. But God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase. Now, he that planteth and he that waters are one, and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.
For we are laborers together with God. Ye are God’s husbandry. Ye are God’s building. By the way, I did not really kind of get the full meaning of that to memorize that verse number nine a little while back. For we are laborers together with God. We’re working with God, but ye are God’s garden, not my garden. And your ministry, whatever your ministry may be, your Sunday school class or Children’s Church or bus ministry, all the other. We get to minister to them, but they’re not ours.
About a year so ago, someone was visiting our church that went to another church, and I called the pastor, said, hey, you know, so-and-so is coming. And the first thing he said, well, they’re not mine. They’re the Lord’s. That was a wise statement. And for we are laborers together with God. Ye are God’s husbandry. Ye are God’s building.
It’s not the thing I want to focus on, but we are laborers together with God. Now look over in 2 Corinthians chapter number 6 if you would, 2nd Corinthians chapter number 6. And look at that verse number 1, 2nd Corinthians chapter number 6 and verse number 1 right there. He says, we then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
Would you pray with me that God speak to hearts tonight? Father, Lord, help me to be wise with words, Lord, and with time. Lord, speak for me. Father, help us to grasp really how you love us. And we have a privilege to serve you and work with you, Lord. Help us to grasp that more tonight. And we’ll thank you for what you do in Jesus. Then we pray, amen.
Thank you so much for standing. You may be seated.
When I was a teenager, a man of our church that owned some factories, sat in some metal machine. And one Christmas break, you know, you’re two weeks off school, he hired some of us boys to go and he was consolidating one of his two buildings into one, whatnot. We went and worked for him. And out of that, he hired me. I was just a teenager. I couldn’t weld, didn’t know anything about machine shop, but he hired me. And he really took a little special interest in me. He was always good to me. And I’m very grateful. You know, it’s amazing how the Lord knows what you need. And he puts people in your lives. So God really put him in my life.
I remember a couple times, it would fluctuate, I would say, maybe 20, 30 to up to 75 people, just, you know, metal industry is busy, it’s either feast or famine type thing. And so you never know. It was that type of a factory, and he was the guy that started it, whatnot. And he’s just very good to me.
And I remember a time or two, one time in particular, I worked in the back, what we called the fab shop, metal fab shop. And typically, and he came back, he had a job to do, and sometimes, very seldom, sometimes he would come back and work himself, and he liked to do it. He came back and he worked, and he would often have a helper with him, and he let me be his helper.
Well, first of all, I thought I was somebody just to be the owner of this place. I’m his helper, you know? Man, look at me, you know? And so I thought I was a big shot, if you will, you know? And I’ll never forget one time we were picking up an I-beam. And he’s on one end of the I-beam, and he—you know, we had overhead cranes, but sometimes everybody’s using them, whatnot—and you can pick it up, you know? So he’s like, hang the, we don’t want to spend time wasting for that, you know? Let’s just pick it up, carry it, you know? So he got on one end, but I noticed—and this is a good thing—he didn’t get all the way on the end of his end. I got all on the end of my end, you know? And he picked up his end.
And he was in the Navy years. Just a big man. And he picked his end up. Now, the honest truth is he was probably, you know, fairly close to the middle of it, you know? And I got the end of it. I’m always on the end of my end, you know? And I’m like, man, I ain’t trying to carry the old thing, you know? Man, he picked that thing up. And boy, he just picked it up, you know? And I’m like, whoa, okay, this beam’s coming up. I can lift pretty good, you know?
And I’ll never forget, just kind of following him through the shop. He was carrying most of the weight. And I just had the back a little bit. And I thought I’m somebody. All those other, you know, they’ve been working there for years, some of them, and I’m working with the owner. And I’m carrying a little bit of the weight. You know, that’s where God is.
The honest truth is God, God carries the weight. And the amazing thing is, that’s what he’s talking about, where he says, hey, we’ve planted and watered, but God gave. You know, God really carries the weight. He’s the one that brings the increase. You know, the honest truth is, we were talking about somebody the other day, and, you know, we can’t change anybody. We can’t even change ourselves, that’s the honest truth. And it’s God. God brings the real fruit.
God’s the one that changes lives. And then God does the real work. But he allows us to have a hold of that and we get to work with him. But God brings the increase. You know, I used to have a garden, and something special about having a garden. You plow it up and you do all that and you plant the seed. Brother Loggins, he used to have a garden back in the day. And he used to bring us in vegetables. He used to have a garden, used to bring his vegetables, trying to, you know. No hit there, you know, and I’m teasing a little bit, but he used to have a big old garden and whatnot.
But anyway, you do all that, and you plant the seed and everything. But, you know, you can’t make that seed grow. You can do all that, and sometimes you do all that, and it never comes up. And you can’t, you know, the best farmer in all the world can’t make a seed grow. God does that.
And God brings the increase. That’s why I like that over there in verse of bringing. He said, hey, you don’t get your rewards for your results. You get your rewards for your labor. Because God’s the one in charge of bringing the results. He brings the increase. And he lets us have a part of it. Really, he’s the one that really just carries the weight.
How foolish I might be if I think I can change a life. I can’t change your life. But God brings the increase. And that’s so very, very important to realize that.
I’ve thought a lot here recently about the Jesus that coming to me, oh, ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. What’s the next thing? He says, take my yoke. And we preached about it recently. I don’t know something that was not whatever it was, but we get in the yoke with the Lord. Typically, a lot of times there’s a big older stronger ox and then a smaller weaker one, and that old one kind of trains that young one. And the key is that that little one learns to get just right in rhythm, right in step of the bigger one.
And boy, that’s the way the Lord is. You know, if that little one tries to get ahead and pull the weight of that yoke, there’s no way he could do it. And that’s the way we are God. And just the key is getting in sync with the Lord. And as he steps, you step with him.
Here’s the amazing thing about it. Here’s the amazing thing about it, though. You know, God could do it all on his own. I mean, he’s God. He’s powerful enough. He could just take care of it all. But did you notice in those verses, look back over there if you would, look back over there in Chapter 3, 1 Corinthians 3. And just a really amazing statement. That verse number 6, I have planted, Apollos watered. But God… here’s what I want to just mention about that verse there. God did not bring the, he could have did it any time anywhere, but God did not bring the increase until Paul planted and Apollos watered.
That’s just the honest truth. That formula down there in verse number nine right there, he says, for we are laborers together with him. Now what I’m getting at here, yes, he brings the increase, but he could do it on his own, but his formula, you’re in the formula.
That chapter number six, 2nd Corinthians, verse number one, we then are workers together with him. He could do it all on his own, but for some reason God wants you in the formula. He could plow the whole field by himself, but he said, come over here and get in the yoke with me. It’s amazing to me how God wants us involved in his work.
The verse we use so often a prayer under the square. We mentioned this morning, 2nd Chronicles 7:14, if my people—not God could do it on his own—but he says, if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face, turn from the wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land. Then you’re part of the formula.
Look over in Ezekiel, if you would. Look over to Ezekiel. Just amazing how God, before he brought destruction and judgment on the nation of Israel, he looks to his people. I’m just sometimes a little bit amazed that God wants people to be a part of the formula working for him. Look over here in Ezekiel chapter 22. Ezekiel chapter 22. And he’s looking should he bring judgment and destruction or not. And look what he says in Ezekiel 22. Look at verse number 30, if you would. Ezekiel 22 and verse number 30. And he says right there, and he’s about to bring destruction, but he says, and I sought for a man among them.
And I said, no, the formula is I need a man. I could just bring revival. I could change a nation. But my formula is God plus a person. Laborers together. And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before the land that I should not destroy it, but have found none. So part of the formula was missing. What part? God was there, yes, but man. The person that would say, have thine own way with me, Lord.
So what happens? Verse number 31. Therefore have I poured out my indignation upon them, and consumed them with the fire of my wrath. Their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God. What a sad statement. I end the verse number 30, but I found none.
I’m saying, friend, God has you in the formula. He wants to use you. God could do it on his own. You ever think about it? This is a crazy thought. But God can write the gospel in the sky. When clouds fly over, it could have the gospel in John 3:16, you know? Or God could use the cow instead of saying, “Moo,” he can say, “John 3:16,” you know? He’s God, you know. For God so loved the world. How about that? You know, he can do it. Or a chicken, you know, a chicken, you know, John 3:16. Come on, God can do it. He’s God.
But God, God has decided that he wants mankind in his formula. Every single person here tonight he has you. You know that building over there? We had the privilege of starting today. God could do all that on his own, but he has allowed you and I to have a part of that. And God says part of the formula is I want Brother Patterson to be in that formula. I want Ms. Marlene to be a part of the formula. I want Mr. Marlene to be a part of the formula. He wants you. You’re part of the formula.
And in Ezekiel, he said, I’m not going to be able to get the job done or I’m not going to get the job done because I can’t find a man. I’m saying you’re an important part of God’s formula. God says, I want you involved in his work. I can do it all on my own. I’m the one that carries the weight, but I want you on the back of the beam. And it’s a privilege for you.
And what a shame sometimes we get caught up in our money and our little world and our feelings and our personality and all the rest of that. And God says, hey, I got a work over here. I want to use you a part of that work. Man, that’s a great privilege. You’re part of the formula, friend.
God wants you involved in his work. He said, no, I’m not going to get the gospel out with the clouds or the chickens or the cows. I’m going to use a man or a lady at work or wherever he can’t. You’re part of the formula. Sometimes I’m just amazed. I’m like, Doc, you can find somebody to do such a better job. But what I honor, he said, no, I chose you. You’re the one. And he’s chosen you for so many jobs.
And sad thing. You say, why is the gospel so easy? People get to save. Jesus did the heart part. Why don’t more people get to save? Well, sometimes because we are not involved in the formula to get the gospel out. What a sad thing. I mean, that’s a formula. God plus a person. And God says, I’ll pull the major weight.
You know, God does it. God wants you to be a part of it. Amazing. I’ve told this story before, it’s so true, the illustration, but it’s just so fitting. But you see it, the dad, he’s going to move the coffee table. And the honest truth is, he can pick the coffee table up, you know, he can do it, no problem for him, you know? I mean, you just pick it up and move it. But you know what he does?
He said, come on over here, Johnny. Come over here. I want you to help me, help Dad. The honest simple truth is little Johnny makes Dad almost trip and break his neck. He could do it better on his own. But Dad wants Johnny. Come on, Johnny. I want you over there. Grab the corner of the coffee table. And that’s what God does with us. Come on, I want you involved in my work. Got a plan. Got a plan.
Got a corner of the table for you. And here’s the thing. If you don’t get on that corner, something’s going to be missing. And sometimes the job does not get done because God said, and he found none in his Ezekiel 22. The sad thing. Well, God can do it on his own. Sure, he can do it his own, but his word and his formula is Paul planted, Apollos watered, and then God gave the increase.
That’s what God works for you. He’s worked through that all through history. Oh, it’s so important when he gives us a job to do. He said, yes, sir, I’m glad to do it. Glad to do it.
I thought about years ago. We lived in Jacksonville, Florida. By the way, good to have the Campanellis with us this weekend. That’s great. I just felt like Brother Patrick was behaving more today. Praise Lord for the Campanelles. Patrick and Marlene, they’re a blessing. But we were living in Jacksonville, Florida. And my wife… some ladies live next to us and the Holy Spirit kept telling my wife, hey, go go talk to them, go talk to them, go witness to them. And finally, after the Lord convicted her so hard—no, I’m joking with him, I’m teasing—but she said, all right, Lord, and she went next door, talked to those ladies, and they were they were just open to the gospel, glad to hear it.
They both… remember, I think both of them, both of them bowed their head and asked Jesus Christ to be their Savior. Now here’s the amazing thing about it. Before it was all over, they said, hey, we’re glad you came to talk. We’re moving tomorrow. Just think if she hadn’t done her part. That’s why God works.
Yes, God can carry the coffee table. He can do anything for it. But He wants you. You’re part of his formula. And praise the Lord, it’s such a privilege, but that you’re part of it.
Now, here’s the last thing. Here’s the last thing. God gives the increase, but you’re part of the formula. Here’s the neat thing about it. It’s so true. Look at it again. I’ll just read it for you. We’ve already read them. That verse number nine, 1 Corinthians 3, for we are laborers together with God. 2 Corinthians 6:1, we then as workers together with him.
What about over there in Matthew 28? He gives the great commission there, gives it five times. That one of those times over in Matthew 28. “And go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Amen.
Here’s the neat thing about it is when you say, all right, God, I’ll do my part. You know, here’s the wonderful thing about it. We get to be with God. That’s the privilege of it all.
I have this memory in my mind. I was little. I didn’t get to do a whole lot of things with my dad, but I remember one time my dad—we lived in we lived in Chattanooga, I actually lived in Ringgold, Georgia. You know where Ringgold, Georgia is? Yeah. And that’s where the chiggers and ticks lived back in that day and time now, you know. And, boy, I don’t like those things, but they live there, you know. And we lived right across the state line, and my dad worked at a carpet factory real close to there. And he was delivering carpets. See, he just worked there, but some reason they had Dad drive a box truck, you know. And nowadays you have to have a Class B CDL to drive. And he was going to drive, and he was delivering carpets to North Carolina and South Carolina. I’m not sure. I was just a little fellow. And me and my older brother, we got to ride in the big truck with my dad.
And even all these years later, that’s always a little bit of just, I got a, I got a, just a visual of that in my mind, sitting in the truck, man, I was a big shot, I’d tell you for sure now, you know? And sat in the front of that truck with my dad driving this big truck. We were somebody, I’d tell you for sure, friend. And that’s just a fond memory. And hey, here’s a neat thing about it: when you do God’s will, you get to be with your dad in the truck. That’s the special thing about it all. In his presence is fullness of joy.
Talking about Mr. Samson, he used to Samson was good to me, and he just kind of took me under his wing a little bit. And I remember one time Mr. Samson said, Paul, you think you know, you think you know someone, but you really don’t know him until you work with them. Well, that’s when you get to know him. And he’s right. A lot of truth of that.
And when you get to work with God, boy, you get to know him. Man, I like to be close to God. You know what? Get involved in some ministry with the Lord and you get to be laborers together with him. Boy, you get close to it. It’s a wonderful thing.
I remember a preacher years ago, when he was a boy, he lived in Michigan. And his grandpa owned a trailer park. Now, Michigan, sometimes they have a little bit upscale back of the day. And it was one of those. And he said his grandpa, they had a place where you come and dump your trash. And then every Saturday, I think it was, his grandpa would take that and take it to the dump.
And so one Saturday he knew what was going to happen. His grandpa came and he was going to dump out the dumpsters and trash and all that. He’s going to take them to the land and fill the dump. And he went to his grandpa. He said, “Hey, Grandpa, when you’re in town, would you give me some ice cream?” And the grandpa said, “Well, how about you go? How about you go with me?” And the little boy’s riding his bike having a good time. Well, you know, I mean, besides that, you’ve got to go to the dump, you know, folks. I’m talking about, how many’s been to the landfill here recently, you know? Yeah. Do you still smell that smell, you know? It gets stuck in those hairs of your nostrils for about four weeks, you know, you don’t talk about. And kind of like building sea smell like for a while. We won’t go there.
But he said, “No, Grandpa, I’m just going to stay here and around my bike, you know.” And so Grandpa said, “All right.” You know when he came back? No ice cream.
A little while later on, a couple weeks later, Grandpa Saturday’s getting all that garbage loaded up, about to go to the landfill, you know, how to go in town and do all that. And the little boy’s a little smarter this time. “Grandpa, can I go? Can I ride with you to the dump?” “Come on in.”
Now they had to go to the dump. You know when you go to the dump, back in the day, some of these, some of them even have, you know, you’ve got to unload it yourself, and you ever get out of your vehicle and you step there in that, in that, you know, that, and your feet start sinking down in there? And then you get back in the truck if you don’t change it. Oh, my goodness, the truck stinks, you know. And they went through all that stinky stuff. And they got all the trash dumped out.
And they’re leaving the dump and they’re going through town. And Grandpa just pulls right into the ice cream shop. And they go in there and Grandpa said, “Hey, I’ll get you whatever you want.” I don’t know. That’s a tough pick. Mint chocolate chip’s pretty good. Chocolate chip cookie dough is pretty good. Reese’s peanut butter cup is pretty good. Anybody else who got something, you know? You get caramel on there, hot fudge on there. I mean, you can get strawberry on there. Miss Goldforth, you look hungry all of a sudden here. Oreo, Oreos, okay, Oreos. Yes, sir, what would you go do? Ain’t no telling what that is, man. I don’t know. I’m not sure. Sprinkles sound like, sprinkles. There you go. That’s it.
Hey, isn’t that like God? God said, “You want to get close to me? Come on, let’s go down to this sin-messed-up world.”
I know it stinks sometimes and a bunch of hurt and broken hearts all over the place, but I want somebody to ride in the truck with me to go over there and help somebody, help a bus kid out, help a hurt mom out, just go love somebody, help your neighbor out. And God says, “Hey, come on over here. Somebody needs to go in that sin-ridden, Satan-filled world and make a difference in somebody’s life and love on somebody and tell them about Jesus.” And God said, “Come on down here and get busy with me. And we’ll go to the ice cream shop together.” And the privilege of it all, you get to be with God. You want to get close to God? He says, “Come on over here. I want you to be a part of my formula.” Let’s labor together with God. Privilege.
You bow your heads and close your eyes. Our heads bowed, eyes are closed. Would you just spend some time tonight, say, “Lord, I want to I want to labor together with you whatever you want.” He didn’t say it coming to me and just said around it, and he said, “Take my yoke.” Take my yoke. Lord, whatever the yoke is, I want to get in there with you. Thank you for the privilege. Thank you. Let me have a part in your formula. I want to be in there with you. I want to be close to you. I’m here to go to the dump with you, if you will. Help those hurting all around us, all around us. Would you stand or have a word of prayer? You come. Just spend some time with him. Lord, thank you. You’re so good. I don’t deserve to be with you on the trip. Thank you. You want me on the corner of the coffee table. What a privilege, Lord. Father, forgive us if we sometimes shy away from what you’ve made us and called us to do. Help us be busy reaching out to a lost and hurting world. Use us. Thank you to bring the increase, but thank you. Let’s be a part in it. Jesus, and we pray, amen.
Would you spend some time just loving on him, yield to him, tell him let him have his way with thee. Good night to surrender it all to him again. I surrender all to Jesus. I surrender all to him. I freely give. What would you have me do, Lord? What do you want me to do, Lord? Here for thee.
Amen, amen. I’m a little surprised at 7:02. I didn’t hear any alarms go off. What about that? Kind of like happy, but then, you know, mixed emotions there, you know. We’ve been at 7 o’clock, we’ve been just stopping and praying. And let’s pray. Yes, yes, for the offering. And still, you know, we’ll get a little more coming in, typically have been mowing all that the next day. But for that, and then just for the sell of this property. And let’s pray for that.
We want to be able to use the proceeds from this before we draw from the loan. And I mention it, it does seem like things are happening there, but it’s not a done deal. And so would you pray? And let’s pray tonight. It’s at the lawyer’s office now. And they’re kind of reviewing the contract and whatnot. Commercial, they do a lot of that, commercial real estate. So let’s pray.
You get lawyers involved, we need to pray for it. And let’s pray that God will make this thing happen. Do I have a man or two that has not prayed for this specific thing on Sunday night and Wednesday night that would be willing to pray for it? Do we have any men? We’ll use men for this one here. When you get older, you stay in here. We’ll get you one day. Any men that have not? But we’re willing to, anybody. We’ve got all right with good deal. We’ll just get some new ones in here then. Let’s come on down if you would and let’s pray about this saying and let’s ask the Lord to bless it. Be such a blessing of this week, the construction starting, just for God to bring this contract through. But the Casey, before you get down, would you come lead us?
And Brother Powers, before you get to help you, come lead us if you would. We’re just and um let’s pray this this will be a great week for something to happen there and let’s pray. Good everybody, if we can get down here on knees, great or front row, whatever, that’d be good and just come on, humble ourselves before the Lord. This is the key. I’ve just seen it so many times. I try to make things, and it doesn’t happen. But when you start praying, we sincerely go to God, it’s amazing how things start happening. Let’s just pray. Would you do? These men will lead us. Let’s go to Lord in prayer. Would you do that tonight?
Let’s pray. Father, we thank you, Lord, for this great day in your house, Lord. Thank you for this morning going over to the property, Lord, the digging, the groundbreaking again, Lord. Thank you for that. Thank you for our church family, Lord. Father, we just want to thank you for your goodness. Father, we want to come to you tonight, Lord, humbly.
Lord, and sincerely we want to pray for this new property, Lord, our new church, Lord. Father, we want to pray specifically for this offering, Lord, that we took today and that will continue to come in, Lord. We want to pray specifically that it will cover the expenses needed, Lord, without having to use the loan, Lord. And we want to place that in your hands, Lord, everything this whole process for years we’ve placed in your hands, Lord, and we want to continue to do so, Lord. And Father, just want to lift up the pending contract, Lord, the movement with this property right here, Lord, and place that in your hands, Lord. Hand that over to you, Father. Just can just uh continue to be with that, Lord, as as we know you will. And Father, we just want to continue to ask to give us the strength and courage needed to grab our corner of the coffee table during this process, Lord. Father, we just want to thank you again. Thank you for being a God to hear our prayers, Lord. Just pray this in Jesus’ name.
Lord, as we continue in prayer, Lord, as Brother John mentioned, it has been an exciting day. And Lord, thank you for bringing us to this point, Lord, of the official kickoff construction this week.
And Lord, so much ahead of us. Lord, we just ask for your hand to be in the middle of every bit of it. And Lord, just be with the offering, the sell of the property, and Lord, all that’s in the works, even now, many things that we don’t even know about. Lord, you work behind the scenes and you put people and things in the place in your time. And often we can be anxious, and Lord, just help us to be patient and follow your leading. And Lord, I pray for your hand upon our pastor in the days ahead. And Lord, just give him great wisdom. Lord, I pray for a hedge of protection about him, Lord, physically. And Lord, just continue to keep your hand upon him for his power in preaching. Lord, just bless He and Miss Tammy and their marriage relationship as they go through this. And Lord, may they look back on it with much joy and just where they can rehearse seeing and feel in your hand upon them in this ministry. And, Lord, I pray you would even begin to prepare people for the new auditorium. Lord, as it was mentioned this morning, as people drive by and see what’s going on there, Lord, just bring them in. Lord, what we’re building for is for your honor and glory and to reach souls. And Lord, just make that building, that property right there effective for your kingdom. And Lord, we’ll certainly give you the credit and praise with you on that. In Jesus’ name now, we pray all this. Amen.
